hot springs
Due to their rich geological history Idaho and the surrounding region offer the highest number of usable hot springs pools in the US. Visitors looking for a moment of relaxation will find soaking pools throughout the state, tucked away on scenic mountain paths. For an alternative experience, developed hot springs sites feature hot pools of varying temperatures and a chance to soak under the stars with modern amenities.
These are the top 3 hot springs in Idaho waiting for your visit this summer:

Lava Hot Springs
Centrally located between Salt Lake City, Utah and Yellowstone National Park, Lava Hot Springs are open 363 days a year and offer five different pools for visitors to choose from, ranging in temperature from 38°C to 45°C. Bubbling out of natural underground springs, the hot water is laden with minerals, but has no sulfur so visitors can enjoy the pure smell of Idaho’s wilderness.
The hot pools in Lava Hot Springs are renowned as a family destination thanks to the numerous facilities available on site, including an outdoor Olympic pool (open summer only), Indoor Aquatic Centre, Portneuf Kiddie Cove, diving platforms and slides.

Gold Fork Hot Springs
Located in Donnelly, twenty minutes away from McCall, Gold Fork Hot Springs offers six pools formed by natural rock formations in a flow-through system. Temperatures range from 29-43°C, with an additional sandy pool for children. With hydrotherapy jets, hot and cold pools, and magnificent scenery, this hot springs spot really has it all.

Burgdorf Hot Springs
Burgdorf Hot Springs is a rustic resort nestled in the mountains of central Idaho, just north of McCall. The hot pools are open to the public daily, 365 days a year. The resort consist of a large swimming pool maintaining a temperature around 38 °C year-round and two small hot pools at the inlet that average around 45 °C.  In addition to this, Burgdorf also offers visitors accommodation in 15 unique rustic cabins, for those looking to enjoy a longer relaxing getaway.
During winter access to the area is limited to snow-approved vehicles whereas in spring and summer Burgdorf is fully accessible to all vehicle traffic.
