Spring in Idaho: Craft Beer, Local Wine, and Historic Food

Idaho is gearing up for its first Craft Beer Month! To recognise and celebrate Idaho’s growing craft beer industry, Idaho Brewers United and Idaho Tourism have inaugurated April 2017 as the first official Idaho Craft Beer Month.

Throughout the month of April, producers, brewers, restaurants, and retailers will come together to host events highlighting the craft beer industry in the state.

Craft beer lovers will enjoy a full calendar of dedicated events, including tap takeovers, specials, as well as beer-trail maps and itineraries. The dedicated hashtag #PintsUpIdaho will also be used to share more information and help enthusiasts start planning their next Idaho adventure!

Idaho’s wine industry continues to flourish with the newly approved Lewis-Clark Valley American Viticultural Area (AVA). Located in the northwest of Idaho and bordering eastern Washington, this is a unique grape-growing region.

Lewis-Clark Valley is home to 16 vineyards growing more than 81 acres of grapes with approximately 20 unique varieties. Visitors are welcomed to explore this beautiful wine-growing area and enjoy local wines in dedicated tasting rooms.

This guided Historic Boise Food & Cultural Tour is curated by Special Advisor Victor Scargle, Executive Chef at the Culinary Institute of America in Napa, CA. This tour visits more than six Boise food tasting spots located in Historic Downtown Boise.  Guests will enjoy delicious dishes from iconic specialty food stores and unique eateries. Alcohol pairings are available and all food tastings are included in the ticket price.

Between tastings, visitors will be immersed in historic and cultural experiences with knowledgeable guides providing insights into the architectural wonders, lush parks, historic mansions, popular local attractions and restaurants of Idaho.
